Crocs - Fall/Winter shoes!

So, I got an email a few weeks ago from Crocs asking if Brent and I would like to try out their shoes to be worn in cooler weather. I believe they consider it to be the fall/holiday line. I immedately went to the website to check them out. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the appearance of the typical Crocs shoes. My mom god Brent some Razorback ones and that's all we've had.

I was very pleased with the appearance of the fall line so I quickly agreed for us to try them out! Brent went with the Santa Cruz Suede and I went with the Wrapped Mary Jane.

Here is what we thought -

Brent - "A couple weeks ago my wife asked me if I would be interested in trying some new Crocs out.   At first, I was a little hesitant because I already had a pair of Crocs and most people made fun of me for wearing them (including my wife.) haha   Then, she let me know that these were Crocs' new line of footwear and they didn’t really look like the original Crocs. I told her I would be happy to try them out. I mean Crocs had always been comfortable and now, if I can wear them and not get pegged with eggs, it would be a lot better.  So a few days went by and the shoes arrived.  I was happy to see they had the same type of cushioned sole as the originals. I always thought they have been comfortable. I immediately put them on and haven’t been able to take them off since.  I am a major believer in being comfortable, but to go from this

to this ......

seems to be of the look I'm going for. Crocs gets two thumbs up from me and I would highly recommend these to anyone who is a Crocs fan but doesn’t want to be associated the “2009 Men’s Worst Fashion Disaster” award winner."

Me (Megan) - "I was so tickled to get an email asking if Brent and I would like to try the new line out. Of course the first thought they came to mind was that I probably wasn't going to like them if they looked like the original. Nothing against he originals. They are just not my style of shoe. I went to the site and looked around and thought the newer ones looked more like something I would like. Brent agreed so we went forward with the review. I think they are supper comfy and very cute. I think I picked out cute ones :) The color I chose (above) is very neutral and can go with just about anything. I will say I thought the size 7 runs a tad bit big. It could however been my feet that have changes after pregnancy. I really have yet to determine. So, these are definitely Crocs I would purchase...if for some reason I lost the pair I was sent! haha"

Thanks, Crocs!

Facial Worth

This is sponsored content BlogHer and Olay.

So, as I've been on this journey to adjusting to my post pregnancy skin, I've determined what's most important. Moisturizer is what my face needs.

Along with my hormonal change, the weather has also changed. Since I gave birth, it has been summer, fall and now almost winter. We are supposed to have our first freeze this week.

I've always been pretty good about washing my face before bed. Sometimes I wash in the morning and sometimes I don't. If my hair needs to be washed, I'll wash my face. If I sleep on dirty hair, there is a good chance it has made my face dirty. I've found a face wash that I'm liking. Perhaps I'll tell you once I've made my final decision on it. I am still liking Olay's Total Effects Moisturizer with Cooling Hydration. I have yet to determine if I actually want or need an additional moisturizer for my eyes. Sometimes I feel like the fewer products the better, but then again, I don't want to short my face.

Do I fill up my cabinets with more products or do I keep it simple?

Too young for wrinkles?

This is sponsored content BlogHer and Olay.

Evidently, you are never too young to get wrinkles.

I think the ones around the eyes are the ones that really do a number on you. Well, at least me. I don't use waterproof mascara or eyeliner, but yet I always have a hard time getting my eye makeup off! Therefore, I rub my eyes too much. I know this. I've been wanting to change this. I've needed to make some adjustments to my skin routine since pregnancy.

As you may remember from this  post, the color of the skin on my face definitely changed some. Along with the color changing, I'm pretty sure I developed some crow's feet over the summer. When we were in the hospital with Cohen, we slept VERY little. If that's what aged my eyes, I'm totally fine with that. The lack of sleep since then, I wish I didn't have. Between rubbing my eyes to remove my makeup, the hormonal change by body is going through and the emotions I've endured, my skin is needing some TLC.

I need to find a way to get my eye make up off in a gentle fashion. I need to moisturize the eye area because I know it's very delicate and probably needs more TLC than most areas.

I've been continuing to use my Olay Cool Effects Total Hydration. So far, I've been using it around my eyes and I do feel it's keeping the area smooth.

Tell me - Do you use your facial moisturizer all over your face, or do you use a different one on your eyes?

Skin After Pregnancy

This is sponsored content BlogHer and Olay.

I'm pretty sure I was born with freckles. For someone that is completely dark headed and fairly dark skinned, it seems a bit rare that my body would be covered in freckles, but it is.

Six months ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. At the end of my trimester of pregnancy, I noticed the freckles on my skin getting a bit darker. Well, as the pregnancy continued, I noticed darker and darker freckles.

Upon delivery, we spent twelve long days in the hospital with our sweet baby, who is now angel. I feel like my freckles continued to get darker and my skin became almost as stressed as I was. I had always been good about wearing moisturizer and sunscreen, but I had far more important things to be concerned with.

After twelve days in the hospital, my skin hit the sun, and guess what...the freckles appeared to get even darker! I determined the majority of the darkening was not due to the sun, but due to hormones. My skin needed help. I needed to get back in to a routine. I needed to wash my make up off at the end of every day. I needed to moisturize. I was already looking pretty down and stressed as it was, the least I could do was make my skin look a bit presentable.

I began a search to adjust to my new, hormonal skin, accordingly. I tried a few things, and so far, I've stuck with Olay's New Total Effects Cooling Hydration.

The good news is, with makeup, the freckles aren't too visible. However, sometimes when I don't wear much, they are definitely apparent. Had the flash not been on, you would see many more than you do...

Are you wanting to try some new products to adjust to your skin that might be changing?

Do you want to win a $100 Visa Gift Card to help buy those products? This week, you have another chance......

Tell me what routine you have! Do you wash morning and night? Moisturize morning and night?
